Quick questions

POCSO Act & child protection

Learn what the law is for and find safe, official reporting routes.

What is the POCSO Act?

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 is an Indian law that protects people under 18 from sexual offences and provides for child-sensitive legal processes.

Protect a child's identity. This website intentionally does not provide fields to publish children's names, phone numbers, exact addresses, or school details. Do not list two children's identities on a public webpage. Share identifying details only through the appropriate official process with authorized officials.

Need help for a child?

If a child is in immediate danger, call 112. For child protection support, contact the Government Child Helpline 1098. You do not need to post the child's identity here.

Prepare notes safely

If you need to explain a concern to an official, note the general incident, date/time, and safe way to contact you. Do not include a child's name, phone number, address, or school in this page. Ask a trusted adult or authorized official how to provide sensitive details privately.
